The Grand Forks and Boundary Regional Agricultural Society (GFBRAS) has received $240,000 in funding from the federal government to set up a licensed mobile abattoir.
The abattoir will eliminate costs on transportation, stress on the animals due to transportation and area residents will also have access to locally-raised and government-inspected meat products, including beef, pork, goat, and poultry.
See Wednesday, March 28 issue of the Grand Forks Gazette for more details.
