RCMP are asking for the public’s help after a string of vandalism at local schools last week.

Sir D.A. Perley Elementary, John A. Hutton and Grand Forks Secondary were all the target of vandalism on March 27. According to a press release, Grand Forks RCMP responded to a complaint of mischief at Perley and Hutton and upon arrival discovered the schools had been spray-painted and a window broken. Two “young people” were interviewed but deemed not involved in the incident.

In the evening, RCMP responded to a similar complaint of mischief over a broken window at Grand Forks Secondary School.

“RCMP located and arrested four suspects. The suspects cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The matter is still under investigation and it is unknown at this time if the mischief complaints to the other schools are related to the four suspects,” said Sgt. Jim Fenske in a press release.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Grand Forks RCMP at 250-442-8288 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
