With great sadness the family of Lucy Zacharias wish to let you know of her passing. Lucy was born at Grand Forks, B.C., on August 19, 1931, and went to be with her Lord on October 7, 2011, in Boundary Hospital at the age of 80.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gunter; sons, Kelly and Gasrrett; sisters, Hazel and Ann; brothers, John and George; and her parents, Nick and Nellie Sofonoff.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, Brian and Tyson; grandson, Keston; and many nieces, nephews and family members.
Lucy was known for her Russian cooking - especially Borscht, her country living and farming. She loved to socialize, tell stories, garden, sew and read. If she wasn’t in her garden, she would be fellowshipping with friends and reading her Bible.
A funeral service was held at the Gospel Chapel on Friday, October 14, 2011, with a private family burial at Evergreen Cemetery at Grand Forks, B.C. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Grand Forks Funeral Home.
