Loresa enjoyed many sports and outdoor activities from track to softball while attending high school. Her love of the outdoors continued throughout her life. She hiked, canoed and was an avid cyclist. She would bike everywhere, no matter the weather. Upon high school graduation in 1983 Loresa enrolled at Washington State University (1984) studying Sports Management. During her time at university she was a member of the University Rowing Team and also enjoyed deejaying at a local radio station. Loresa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education on May 7, 1988.

Loresa worked briefly in Kananaskis, Alberta managing a hotel recreation pool and fitness centre before moving to Halifax to pursue her creative side. She enrolled at NSCAD and set off driving across Canada on her own to Nova Scotia. She fell in love with Art College (graduating with a Fine Arts degree in 1994) and the city of Halifax.

She continued her love of the arts painting and sketching while employed at the Marriott Harbourfront for the past 21 years. A number of her pieces hang in Halifax businesses. Loresa had a positive impact on the many friends and colleagues while working and living in Halifax. She had a love and passion for Jamaica, visiting it for two months each year. During her trips to Jamaica she made lasting friendships with people from all over the world who will undoubtedly miss her.

Loresa treasured her jazz and reggae music, and recently became totally immersed in singing with a choir. She was a soft-spoken artistic adventurist with a great sense of humour who loved her two cats, Pickle and Trinket. She will be missed.
