It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of John Chivildave on April 17, 2010, at the age of 54, after a brief battle with cancer.John is lovingly survived by his wife Lynda of 28 years, sisters Loverna Chursinoff (Dan) and Gladys Konkin (Barry), brothers-in-law Ken Spencer (Barb) and Keith Spencer (Deb), many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. John was predeceased by his father and mother, John and Mary Chivildave.John was born and raised in Grand Forks and it is here that he started his career with the Overwaitea Food Group. After 37 years of dedication to his career he retired on February 28, 2009.John loved to golf, travel, build their home in Christina Lake and spend time with numerous friends and family.A celebration of John's life will take place on May 15, 2010, at the Christina Lake Community Hall, at 1 p.m.This remarkable man was a member of Comox Lodge No. 188 and was involved with many charities and organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
