Our beloved grandmother and mother, Gurdial Kaur Sibat passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on February 26, 2011, at the age of 74. She was born at Swaddi Kalan, Punjab, India, on August 12, 1936, and she was raised in Manuke Punjab, India. In 1990, She settled in Canada along with her family.
She was a proud mother of two sons and three daughters, one of which lives in India. Her 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild brought joy to her eyes. She enjoyed traveling and meeting new people along the way. Her smile lit up the whole room and filled our hearts with love. It was in her nature to give all she could to the less fortunate and she will be remembered for her engaging personality. Throughout her lifetime she was a very hard worker who fought for her life, and never gave up. If we have been pleased with her life we should not be displeased with her death because it comes from the hands of the same master, God. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. A Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 5, 2011, in the chapel of Grand Forks Funeral Home with cremation following at Rossland, B.C. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Everett Baker of Grand Forks Funeral Home.
