I moved to Grand Forks in 2004 from the coast. I was hired by the Grand Forks Gazette as an advertising sales rep, and even though I had previously owned a small business and never thought I would work for anyone else again, I immediately fell in love with the newspaper business and Grand Forks. My favourite saying is "a traffic jam in Grand Forks is 2 cars waiting for 4 deer to cross the road." I retired from the Gazette in October of 2014 as the associate publisher and was elected to city council that November. Then, in February of 2017, I was called back to the paper and I am now the publisher as well as sales rep. Even after all these years, I still feel that the best part of my job is working with my clients to help them grow their businesses. I'm also an active volunteer in the community.
