Joseph Boutillier is unicycling across Canada. The Victoria native stopped recently in Grand Forks on his trip.

For many of us, riding a bicycle with two wheels is hard enough. Joseph Boutilier of Victoria plans to ride a unicycle across Canada to raise awareness for climate change and pushing climate action."It feels like the federal government is at a standstill in what should be a matter of extreme urgency," he said. "I think it should be a national priority. Right now we're 30 per cent off our carbon emissions targets which have already been weakened since Kyoto. We have no real sustainable energy plan for Canada."The 23-year-old student from Victoria was in Grand Forks last week and stayed for a few days as part of his trip.Boutilier started his ride on April and took two weeks to get to Grand Forks mostly along Highway 3.He plans to arrive in Ottawa in September just before Parliament opens for the fall session. For more information on Boutilier's ride visit unityfortheclimate.ca.
