Rec Report: Put on your dancing shoes

Ballroom dance refers to partners dancing, which can be enjoyed both socially and competitively around the world.

Instructor May Berge can get you on your way to learning the proper steps involved in ballroom dance.

For the month of March, she will teach eight sessions of dance. Classes will be held at the Grand Forks Arena viewing room twice a week.

Is your child going to be looking for summer employment or are they are ready to start the Advance Leadership program? Grand Forks Aquatic Centre will be offering a Bronze Medallion and Cross Camp the first week of Spring Break, March 21 to 25. These two awards are the prerequisites for the National Lifeguard certification. The National Lifeguard Service certification is the minimum requirement needed to work as a lifeguard in the field of aquatics.

Deadline to register is March 7.

With Spring Break not far off, we will be offering a spring session of Red Cross swim lessons. This is a great opportunity to get your children into lessons before the summer.

Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. starting March 28. There won’t be a session offered during the spring months

this year. The next session will start in July.

The Grand Forks community soccer program has been reformatted to include the entire Boundary area. It has been renamed and restructured. Children can get involved as young as four years right up to age 13.

The association is looking for coaches and referees and will cover the cost of the training.
