REC REPORT: Grand Forks Recreation fall classes open for registration

Grand Forks Recreation fall classes, including Aquafit and Shape Up, are now open for registration.

The morning air is starting to feel like fall. Summer is not over yet however and there is still plenty of time to schedule a float down the river or relaxing afternoon on the beach.

Grand Forks Recreation (GFREC) wants to remind you to take care while playing in and around the rivers and lakes, and remember, wearing your life-jacket helps saves lives.

Fall is a great time of the year to think about getting back into fitness. If you are not sure where to get started, come in and talk to the trained staff at the aquatic centre for advice.

Aquafit classes are great for those looking for no to low impact workouts. Classes use specialized equipment and shallow and deep water.

Evening Aquafit is a registered nine-week program that will be offered Monday and Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m., starting Monday, Oct. 15. Preregister by Oct. 15. Registered programs are a wonderful way of making a commitment to your health. All you need is 21 days to make it a long lasting positive healthy habit.

Yes it is back, the train will be whistling again at the station pub. Well, maybe not the train but the Kettle River Runners, along with anyone who is interested in running a scenic five or 10-km loop.  The Station to Station Run is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 25 starting and finishing at the Station Pub. This community fun run will start at 5:30 p.m. and pre-registration is required by Tuesday, Sept. 18.
