We’re only 25 days away from the seventh annual Pharmasave Christina Lake Triathlon slated for Sunday, June 26.

This is a community-wide event that encompasses the Christina Lake Public Beach and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Participants will be challenged by a 750-metre swim, a 20-kilometre bike ride and a five-km run.

There is also an event for the kids aged seven to 12 years.

The Kids Sprint Triathlon offers a 100-m swim, a six-km bike ride and a two-km run.

There is room for everyone and there is still time to get some training in before the big day.

Register yourself or your team and don’t miss out on all the fun and excitement this awesome community event has in store.

If you need a little push to get yourself motivated for the triathlon, show up at the Grand Forks Arena parking lot on Thursdays at 5 p.m. and join the Kettle River Runners.

They run a variety of trails, so be prepared to drive to the locations and the ladies meet at the arena parking lot on Tuesday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. for mountain bike rides.

Rides are generally about two hours.

Helmets, water and a good working bike are mandatory for this ride as well.

Both the run and the rides are great for building endurance and strength in training.

If you are looking to improve your swimming component of the triathlon, the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre is offering triathlon swim training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 6 to 7:30 a.m.

Start now and set yourself up for a great Christina Lake Triathlon experience.

The Pharmasave Christina Lake Triathlon needs your help in order to make this year’s event a huge success.

We need an event crew for the jobs and tasks necessary to implement an event of this size.

If you are not into participating as an athlete, you can be a part of the action as a volunteer.

Not only do you get the best view, you get the satisfaction of helping to make the triathlon the best one yet.

So don’t miss out on the 2011 Pharmasave Christina Lake Triathlon. Be a participant as an athlete or as an event crew volunteer.  Either way, contact us today.
