MARCH 16 WEEKENDER: What you need to know about the Peewee Tier 4 B.C. Hockey Championships

The Peewee Tier 4 B.C. Hockey Championships begin tomorrow at Grand Forks Arena.

Members of the Grand Forks peewee hockey team have set up shop in the Grand Forks Border Bruins' locker room at Grand Forks Arena in anticipation of the upcoming Peewee Tier 4 B.C. Hockey Championships.



The Peewee Tier 4 B.C. Hockey Championships begin tomorrow (March 17) at Grand Forks Arena.

Teams from Kelowna, Vanderhoof, Prince George, Semiahmhoo, Juan de Fuca, Windermere Valley and Grand Forks will be in the competition and it will be a round robin format, with top two teams (based on record) playing for the championship.

Tournament play begins at 10:30 a.m. on March 17 with a game betwen Kelowna and Vanderhoof; opening ceremonies take place at 7:30 p.m. later that day, with the Grand Forks peewee team playing Kelowna at 8 p.m.

There will be a bag piper as part of the opening ceremonies and Grand Forks peewee player Tyson Soobotin will be singing the national anthem.

Grand Forks will play during the following times, not including if it makes the championship game:

Sunday, March 17: 8 p.m. vs. Kelowna Monday, March 18: 5 p.m. vs. Prince George. Tuesday, March 19: 8 a.m. vs. Windermere Valley and 5 p.m. vs. Semiahmoo Wednesday, March 20: 8 p.m. vs. Vanderhoof Thursday, March 21: 2 p.m. vs. Juan de Fuca

The championship goes 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21.

Admission is $5 for the day or $20 for a family pass for the week.
