MARCH 13 REC REPORT: Grand Forks Cycling Club preaching safety

The Grand Forks Cycling Club will be offering clinics on road safety riding and riding skills in late-April.

Spring is in the air and Grand Forks Recreation (GFREC) is ready with many of our spring programs in place.

The roads and streets are drying quickly and soon you will have the urge to dust off your bicycle and start riding. The Grand Forks Cycling Club will be offering a road safety riding clinic on Monday, April 22 and a group riding skills clinic on Wednesday, April 24.

The two clinics will start at the Grand Forks Arena parking lot at 6 p.m.

There is no fee for the two clinics but we ask that you pre-register.

GFREC and the Grand Forks Cycling Club have partnered together to offer the community this opportunity to learn road safety while enjoying our great rural environment.

Dancing is a great social and fun activity that can be done anywhere and anytime. The next spring dance session with May Berge will be held from April 8 to 29 at the Perley Elementary School gym from 7 to 9 p.m. Learn to country two-step, jive and waltz in just a short period of time.

The registration fee is $45 per person for four, two-hour classes. Deadline to register is April 2.

Let GFREC help you get out and get active. Spring is not far off, outdoor activities become so much easier when the sun is shining.

Ladies over the age of 13 can learn the basics skills of golfing in afternoon with Kevin Maffioli.

The clinic will be held at the Christina Lake Golf Club from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 19.

Meet at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre at 9:30 a.m.

Preregistration is required by April 12 and the registration fee is just $10.

GFREC has such a great response to the annual Pollywogs swim program that we have created a second session. Classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for the month of April.

Please call if you are interested in registering your child for this specialized swim program that is offered only once a year. Registration is $50 for eight sessions.
