Locals representing Kootenays at 2012 BC Summer Games in Surrey

The 2012 BC Summer Games begin today (July 19) in Surrey, B.C. and there are athletes and coaches from Grand Forks and Greenwood.

Surrey’s Cloverdale Recreation Center – recent winner of BC Parks & Recreation Association’s Award of Facility Excellence and 2012 BC Summer Games venue for basketball.

The 2012 BC Summer Games in Surrey, B.C. and athletes and coaches from Grand Forks and Greenwood.

Grand Forks’ Shane and Evan Gorman and Noah Makortoff will be coaching and playing respectively on the Kootenay baseball team.

Greenwood’s Kari Durban will be playing girls’ basketball.

The BC Summer Games run until Sunday, July 22.
