Fourteen athletes represented the Grand Forks Piranhas Swim Club last weekend at a Creston swim meet.

On June 22, the Piranhas secured five meet records, four of which were in the butterfly events.

Shian Corbeil set the Division 2 girls 50-metre butterfly meet record with a time of 38.35, while her sister Leena snagged the Division 4 50-metre butterfly record with a time of 35.51.

Nicole Nuyten dominated the Division 6 Girls 50-metre and the 100-metre butterfly events, achieving meet records in both distances. Her times were 34.28 and 1:23.18, respectively.

Shian Corbeil also secured the 100-metre individual medley meet record with a time of 1:32.97. After a busy day on Saturday, Shian swam her 50-metre backstroke in 41.42 seconds, collecting her third meet record.

Seven aggregate medals were awarded to Piranhas swimmers over the weekend. Ashlyn LeRoy won the bronze medal for the Division 1 girls, and Kohei Dunnet won the gold for Division 1 boys.

Shian Corbeil won the Division 2 Girls gold medal. Kiyomi, Division 3, collected a bronze medal and Leena Corbeil, Division 4, won the silver medal.

Junior coach Nicole Nuyten earned a Division 6 girls gold medal. Coach Robyn Van Ek won the Division 7 girls gold medal.

Overall, the Piranhas were very successful at their second away meet of the season.
