The Grand Forks Cycling Club is once again hosting the B.C. provincial master's races next weekend.

The Grand Forks Cycling Club is once again hosting the B.C. provincial master's races.

Approximately 75 cyclists, aged 35 and over, from all parts of the province, will be participating in three events.

On Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m., with starting intervals of one minute, the racers will be starting at 75th Avenue and North Fork Road, turning on London Road and staggering up to the peak of Hardy Mountain.

On Saturday, July 21 at 10 a.m., the 40-km time trial travels to Brown Creek and back along North Fork Rd. to Highway 3.  The road race on Sunday, July 22 also starts at 10 a.m. and courses on the North Fork Rd., over the Hummingbird Bridge, continues to Granby Camp and finally ends at the landfill site between 12 and 1 p.m.

Since all races start at 75th Avenue and North Fork Road, please continue to be mindful of cyclists and volunteer flag people.

We apologize for the inconvenience to motorists.

According to Master's Race officials, our valley has one of the finest cycling routes in the province and the Grand Forks Cycling Club does a superb job of running high-level events, which is why the Master's Races are held here each year.  Moreover, the cyclists love the hospitality.

Local riders will also be volunteering and participating, so show up and support the yellow and black.
