Grand Forks Border Bruins tie series with Game 4 victory over B.V. Nitehawks

The Neil Murdoch Divsion final is now the best-of-3 following a thrilling Grand Forks Border Bruins victory over the Beaver Valley Nitehawks in Game 4 on Wednesday, March 13.

Border Bruins forward Keanan Pearman scored the game winning goal on a breakaway 11:24 into the third period to give Grand Forks a 3-2 victory and tie the division final series at 2-2.

Lhogan Nimmo opened the scoring for B.V. with a power play goal at 14:30 of the first period.

Grand Forks Theo Naidu tied it midway through the opening frame, and the teams traded goals in the second with Logan McCabe giving the home team a 2-1 lead before Connor Drake batted in a rebound to tie it at 4:53.

The Nitehawks outshot the Border Bruins 39-32, and went 1-for-5 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

In the Eddie Mountain Division final, the Fernie Ghostriders took a 3-1 series lead with a 4-1 victory over the Columbia Valley Rockies on Tuesday.

Game 5 of the Murdoch division final and the Kootenay Conference semifinal goes on Friday, March 15 at the B.V. Arena with the puck drop at 7 p.m.
