Grand Forks Atom 2 hockey team wins tourney in Moscow

The Grand Forks Atom 2 hockey team placed first with a record of 5-0 at a recent hockey tournament.

The Grand Forks Atom 2 hockey team had a record of 5-0, placing first at a tournament in Moscow, Idaho recently.

The children played great at the Harry W. Lee Squirt Classic; the first game ended 10-1 over the Moses Lake Warriors. Second game was 7-1 over L/C Lightning.

Third game was against host team Palouse Black Bears and the score was 4-2.

The fourth game was against the McCall Mountaineers and the score was 7-2. The final game was a rematch against the Black Bears. The score was 1-1 after the first and the Atom B team scored two goals in the second and two more in the third to win 5-1.

The tournament was held in an outdoor rink that was covered and three-quarters the size of the rink at Grand Forks Arena.

Parents and players had a great weekend and were treated very well by the host team.
