Christina Lake Men’s Open

The Christina Lake Men’s Open took place between June 15 to 17 at the Christina Lake Golf Club and the championship came down to a playoff.

Trail’s Ben Gresley-Jones and hometown hero Wil Mounsteven went head-to-head with Gresley-Jones, who eventually taking his third men’s open title.

A full field of 240 players from B.C., Alberta and Washington competed.

Christina Lake Golf Club championship

The Christina Lake Golf Club held its annual golf championship from June 2 to 3, where 20 ladies and 75 men participated.

Irons only

It was another great day of golf on May 10, with 56 members participating in an “Irons only” event, which took place from the red tees.

Three players picked up prizes for their low net rounds. First place went to Bruce Roberts (with a net 66) and Don Palmer and Dave Dale with scores of net 68. The winner of the door prize draw was Al Lebedoff.

New members are always welcome and can obtain information by calling the Christina Lake pro shop at 250-447-9313.

Ladies golf

Sixteen ladies from Castlegar joined on our swap yearly event with Christina Lake Tuesday ladies on May 22. We played reversed dice game.

The winners were:

First flight – Fran Farnworth, Joanne Seminoff, Doreen Barlow and Anne Harrison Second flight – Susanne Bell, Viola Mcgregor, Edna Kazakoff and Lyn Mackey Longest drive-0-20 handicap – Susan Hicks (Castlegar) 20 and over handicap  – Linda King (Castlegar) KP#9 0-20-Linda Hicks 21-30-Joanne Seminoff 30 and over-Glenda Higgins KP#16-all players-Susan Hicks

Birdie pot winners were Paz Alguire, Sharon Olsen and Susanne Bell.

Lady golfers survived hot weather for two days and played two days on our “Eclectic’” game on May 15 and 16.
