Christina Lake golfers fair well in second stop on circuit

Fantastic weather and great course conditions greeted 41 junior golfers on Sunday, May 1 in the second stop on the local Junior Circuit.

Christina Lake golfer Tanner Kopan was three shots behind the winner of last weekend's junior golf stop.

Fantastic weather and great course conditions greeted 41 junior golfers on Sunday, May 1 in the second stop on the local Junior Circuit.

Kevin Bennett, playing out of the Rossland Trail Country Club (RTCC), led all players with an even-par round of 72.

He made very few mistakes and cruised to a three -hot victory over Tanner Kopan of Christina Lake.

Only four players were able to break 80 on the day.  Bennett (72), Kopan (75), Jordan Hoodikoff of Christina Lake (76) and Tyler McKay of RTCC (79).

The division winners were as follows:

17/18 Division

1st Overall - Kevin Bennett - RTCC - 72

1st - Tanner Kopan - Christina Lake - 75

2nd - Jordan Hoodikoff - Christina Lake - 76

3rd - Nolan Taylor - Granite Point - 82

15/16 Division

1st - Tyler McKay - RTCC - 79

2nd - Garrett Underwood - Champion Lake - 83

3rd - Brenan Moroney - RTCC - 84

13/14 Division

1st- Trevor Pereverzoff -Christina Lake 82

2nd - Ryan Fullerton - RTCC - 92

3rd - Isaac Janzen - Creston - 95

The next event is Saturday in Nakusp, B.C. with a 12 p.m. shotgun start and then Sunday at Granite Point in Nelson.

Ladies Golf

The results from Tuesday, April 19: Twenty-two ladies played low net golf.

Winners were: Viola McGregor-  net 69, Chantel Mullen -  net 76, Paz Alguire - net 78 and Michelle Boyd - 79.

The results from Tuesday, April 26: Winners were: First low net 77 Fran Farnworth, Louise Catchpole, Chantel Mullenand Marlene Nichols. 2nd low net 78, Heather Pettersen, Pat Cullen, Sharon Salmi and Laura Carlson.
