Letter: Views of a dirt biker

Re: No room for bikers (Jan. 19 issue of the Grand Forks Gazette)

I am writing in response to Jen Burrows response to my letter in the paper a few weeks back. How dare you say that there is no room for dirt bikers on that trail anymore.

WE HAVE BEEN RIDING IT SINCE THERE WAS STILL TRACKS ON IT.

So who are you to tell us we cannot ride it. Also please explain something to me, if there is a “gazillion” places to ride our dirt bikes, how do you think we get there?

Do we just magically appear there? Sure, some of us who have the money for a truck can load them up and get driven everywhere, but our parents are not going to be driving us everywhere.

So without those trails, we would have no other choice but not to ride.

Yes, I understand what you are saying about dirt bikers ripping past people on the trails, but most of us do not do this.

When my father and I are on those trails, we ride as slow as we can and if we do see somebody, we park to the side and turn our bikes off.

So either build us our own trails or get used to us riding the new paved ones because no matter how you try and block those trails, unless we are given another option we WILL ride them.
