LETTER: Scorn for tree vandal

When touring around many cities and towns, I enjoyed the parks and walking paths.

I always wished Grand Forks would have some of these wonderful trails and now we do.

I walk my dog and enjoy nature right here. I have great joy in feeling like I am in the wilderness, enjoying the sounds of song birds and quail scurrying across in front of me.

My senses are on high alert; sounds of birds, colours of flora, smell of fresh air and feeling of freedom – a small taste of nature. While on my walk across the black train bridge and along the river, I saw many small trees broken off.

To those who did this, if you continue with this behaviour, you will in the future, enjoy sharing a small space with others like yourself.Nature will only be a memory for you. Perhaps then, your thoughts will take you back to the small trees that could have been.

Who’s values do you represent? Your parents, your neighbourhood or your community?
