Letter - Ronaghan's description sensible

A letter to the editor from the April 30, 2014 Grand Forks Gazette.

For the past few weeks I've been reading the many letters to the editor that express their authors' concern regarding the City of Grand Forks' decision to install water meters.  The reading has given me several very humorous moments as I try to understand just what the problem is. I mean, people use cell phones that they place against their skull, don't they? Many also use microwaves to cook their food and no doubt weird things are caused by watching TV. But the moment some people are asked to do something sensible like pay their fair share for their use of a common resource, these people start to bring up all sorts of haywire reasons why they are special and shouldn't be expected to do the right thing.  Thank you, Roy, for your sensible description of the issue. Hopefully, the city council will continue on their way to doing what is best for the community.George Caisley,  Christina Lake
