LETTER: NDP killing jobs?

Editor:

A plank in the New Democratic Party election platform seen on both TV advertising and the party website is “Rewarding job creators.”

Why then did Alex Atamanenko sponsor Bill C-544 in the last parliament?

This bill was specifically targeted at closing family-owned food processing plants in Alberta and Quebec and would lead to the loss of over 300 jobs currently held by Canadian workers.

Why did party leader Jack Layton open the current election campaign by taking direct aim at the oil sands? Construction in the oil sands provides jobs for hundreds of workers across Canada, leading a home-grown recovery from the recent recession.

Why is the NDP focused on cooling the single hot spot in Canada’s economy?
