Letter: Diseases rare thanks to vaccines

If these diseases make a comeback because enough people refuse to vaccinate their children, we will all be very sorry, writes Pat Ralph.

I am from the polio generation. I was touched just slightly while my brother-in-law, now deceased, was severely crippled.

My first job out of high school was at the Jubilee Hospital in Victoria where there was a polio ward and that was a horrible place. Polio, Small Pox, Whooping cough; these diseases are rare now thanks to vaccines.

If these diseases make a comeback because enough people refuse to vaccinate their children, we will all be very sorry.

Pat Ralph, Grand Forks
