Re: Graveyard grievances (Nov. 9 issue of the Grand Forks Gazette)

For those of you that are unaware, the present cemetery site has been cleaned and continues to be by a small handful of volunteers.

For the last four years, the volunteers have been in the minority, so where are the people that claim they want to help?

We have advertised for years, as well as put up posters and to no avail. We have asked for only two or three hours per week.

Ian and Faye, these volunteers have gotten out their rakes, hoes, shovels, etc. and have gotten to work. If you are so willing to help, weather permitting – every Friday morning at 9, we would love to see you there.

As to seasonal residents, does the city you reside in have the elections when it knows you are in residence there?

There is a large number of people living at the lake that are full-time residents who may not agree with what you say regarding not wanting a cemetery, as they will also want to choose their burial location.
