JUNE 19 LETTER: Get your priorities straight

Re: Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down and Can’t get free of bad relationship (columns, May 15, 2013 issue)

I have spoken to the editor in person and by phone as to a long-standing practice of some very, to say the least, inconsiderate types who feel that courtesy supplied daily newspapers at the library and at a couple of our local coffee shops/restaurants for their patrons and customers are easy pickings.

I was disappointed to see that this practice, which really is theft, got relegated to the Thumbs up/down portion in the May 15 edition yet he could find the time and space to write about his “relationship” with golf! It seems to me that his priorities are really out of whack.

I couldn’t find one person who gave a good darn about this “relationship” of his and, personally, I can think of a dozen items that could use some good hard hitting articles besides theft of newspapers and that are more relevant to the citizens of Grand Forks in their daily lives than what his relationship is with golf.
