On April 4th, 2013 Yvonne lost her courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 2, 1951 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and had just celebrated her 62nd birthday two days earlier.
After completing her high school education she attended Saskatoon Business College and started her life long career in the insurance field. It was there that she met her life partner Garry Schatz. Shortly after they relocated to Terrace, B.C. they married; February 17, 1984. Within a few years they moved to Grand Forks, B.C. where Yvonne was employed with Dave Dale Insurance and became office manager. She truly enjoyed her job and all the people she had the privilege of working with.
Yvonne was an avid crafter; always knitting or crocheting, creating beautiful sweaters or scarves for her nieces who proudly wore them.
She enjoyed her jazzercise classes and met numerous people who shared her passion for the workout and they soon became lifelong friends.
Yvonne leaves behind her loving husband and soul mate of 29 years, Garry; stepdaughters Danielle and Darci; grandsons Ryder and Zachary; parents Dolores and Arnold Mueller; brother Glenn (Carrie); sisters Sandra Engele (Tom), Denise Silzer (Mark) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She has completed the final leg of her lifelong journey but her infectious giggle, dazzling smile and truly caring nature will be lovingly remembered but sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
We wish to thank Yvonne’s doctors, Palliative Care nurses, hospice volunteers and Home and Community Care Services for their excellence in their care of Yvonne.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the Palliative Care Unit and Boundary Community Hospice Association of Grand Forks, B.C.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deborah of Grand Forks Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Grand Forks Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 12 noon. “Watch over us – Till we meet again!”
