November 2, 1935 - January 4, 2020
Bill passed away January 4, 2020 at age 85 in Boundary Hospital, with family by his side.
Bill spent his childhood in Quatsino B.C., then moved to Vancouver where he graduated from John Oliver High School and later from U.B.C. with a B.Sc. in Geology and later became a Professional Engineer.
Bill married his loving wife Carol on March 15, 1958 and they raised four children. Linda, Michael, Robert and Shirley in Maple Ridge B.C.
Bill enjoyed his career in geology whether prospecting in the bush or involved in mining activities. He loved the wilderness and passed on his love to his children through the many pictures he always took to document his travels, his stories and little momentoes and whenever possible on camping holidays to be enjoyed "on the job"
In 2003 Bill and Carol retired to Christina Lake B.C. where Bill built the house of his dreams, planted his apple trees and grapes. Summers were spent on the banks of the Kettle River with family and friends. Gatherings at Christmas always filled his "hotel" to overflowing.
Bill was predeceased by his father Wilhelm, mother Violet, step father James and son in law Tony.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Carol, children Linda (Peter), Michael (Teresa), Robert (Robin) and Shirley; grandchildren Samuel, Jordan, Steven, Leon, Jeremy, Maya, Kaelan and Rhea; one great granddaughter Madelyn; his sister Marilyn, husband James and all the family.
As Bill wished, there will be no service.
The family would like to express our deep appreciation to all who helped Bill in his final days.
