In Loving Memory ~
On Nov. 16, 2021, William (Bill) Faminoff passed away peacefully in the GF hospital. We would have been celebrating his 85th birthday on Dec. 17. Instead, he celebrated a heavenly birthday with the love of his life Liz, who passed away two years ago. During her illness of 6 years, Bill cared for her with love, kindness, compassion, and patience in the beautiful home they built together.
Left to mourn and miss him are his two devoted daughters, Tracy and Valerie; his grandchildren, Tyler (Franziska) and Conor; great- grandchildren Finn and Elio; his sister Elaine; his brother Peter (Olga); his wife's sisters Anne and Vera and their brother Jack (Leah); many nephews and nieces; friends; and neighbors.
Also, his two pampered fur babies, Rosie and Quincy, miss their papa dearly and their daily brushings! He loved them with all his heart!
Bill had a positive outlook on life, taking things "one day at a time". He was very proud of his family, his home, and his community. He welcomed everyone into his home and made everyone feel special. He was well known for being a gracious host, and his BBQ steaks were always done to perfection!
He was also known for his incredible vegetable garden which he generously shared with family, friends and neighbours.
He led a very active, engaging, and passionate life. In his youth, Bill was an avid athlete- softball, water sports, and skiing. His first step into mechanics proved to be a highly valued skill that came in very handy throughout his private and professional life. He could modify and fix anything!
Later, his entrepreneurial and innovative skills led him to several business opportunities, including the Yale Hotel, Enercon, City Council, and a Volunteer Fireman. Bill was a committed and actively engaged member of the community.
Businesswise, he had traveled the world gathering ideas to bring home to Grand Forks - some worked, some didn't, always remaining optimistic. Bill will be remembered as an honest, kind, generous, supportive, and compassionate man ...... driving around town in his 'yellow banana'.
We miss you...always in our hearts... until we meet again.
