William (Bill) Durham

March 1, 1928 - October 20, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Durham. Born in Drumheller, Alberta on March 1, 1928, Bill left us on October 20, 2017.

He leaves to grieve for him, his faithful wife, Helen, his children, Elaine (Gordon) Breaks, Danny Durham, and Murray (Carla) Durham, six grandchildren, sisters; Jennifer and Anna (Antoine) Bouchard and brother Jesse Breaks: Chris and Amanda Durham, and three fine great-grandchildren, Charles Louise Bouchard, Logan and Kadence Drescher.

His beloved Penny (Bob) Greene, and nephews, Bradley and Trevor Catonio and part of his family.

Bill was well known in construction circles as an expert driller, blaster and heavy equipment operator. Many B.C. roads bear the mark of his excellent craftmanship. In his lifetime he worked as a miner at the Gypsum Mine near Invermere, Phoenix Mine near Grand Forks and the Mother-Lode Mine near Greenwood.

At eighty-seven he was still shoveling snow, mowing lawns, and keeping the house in good repair. A worker to the end was Bill.

We'll miss his hearty voice, friendly smile, and honest, forthright options.

The funeral will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 7328-19th Street, on October 28 at 2:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served immediately after the service.

We invite friends, neighbours, and former fellow workers to celebrate his life with us, his family.

Due to allergies of some family members, it is requested that no flowers be sent.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Grand Forks Funeral Home.

Farewell, my love, farewell.
