It is with loving kindness that we announce the passing of Willem deKlerk (Bill). He passed away in his Grand Forks home with his two daughters caring for him. Just shy of 96, Bill lead a life filled with adventures.
During WWII, Bill was a prisoner in the Nazi concentration camps. After the war he immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands.
In Canada, he married and had three children, Christina, Bill and Sherrill.
He retired in Grand Forks with his companion Mona.
Bill enjoyed many years as a senior master swimmer, playing chess and especially being with his beloved dog Banjo.
Thank you to the wonderful Healthcare workers who helped to make possible for Dad to pass away at home.
The Baker Family of Grand Forks Funeral Home was entrusted to the cremation of Bill and there will be no service at this time gffh@shaw.ca.
"Moge hij in vrede rusten." May he rest in peace.
