WESLEY EARL Docksteader

Wes passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Trail Hospital after surgery. He had been in declining health for some time. Wes was born on September 12, 1922, in Greenwood, B.C. In 1942, he enlisted in the Air Force where he learned to fly, and then trained pilots through to the end of the war. In 1947, Wes and his Father (Polie) founded Boundary Electric. He too, was at the helm of Interior Mill Equipment which operated from 1957 to 1985 and was an integral part of the operation of Parta Industries. Wes enjoyed flying more than driving and was able to use his love of flying in his extensive business travels. Over the years, Wes remained an integral part of the local aviation fraternity, the Masonic Lodge and Gyros.He is predeceased by his sons, Rob and Doug; granddaughter, Jamee Skilling; and sister, Shirley Owen.Wes is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Wendy Nicol; son, Rick Docksteader; daughters-in-law, Marj and Sharon Docksteader; step-sons Larry and Greg Skilling. Grandchildren include Justin Docksteader, Kyla Fedderson (Trevor), Pam Dickson (Gord), Bekki Auriti (John), Nicole (Nicky) Skilling; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces, Marlene Hawes and Sandy Walls; and nephew, Stan Owen.The hearts that loved Wes dearly are the ones that won’t forget him. A service will be held at the Gospel Chapel on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boundary Community Food Bank will be appreciated, or to a charity of your choice.
