Viola (Valerie) Marguerite Bannert (1928 - 2018) passed away at Providence Villa Nursing Home, in Toronto, Ontario on February 17, 2018 after a short respiratory illness.
She was the sixth and last surviving child of Frank and Sylvia Bannert, and the sister of Eldon, Ray, Wilbur, Opal and Dallas (all deceased).
Val is survived by her daughter Martha and son-in-law Francois Ferron, her many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren, her Religious Sisters of Our Lady's Missionaries, the members of Eramosa Eden, and her beloved cats Bonus, Nora and Valentine.
Valerie devoted her life to God and service to humanity and Mother Earth. She was a devout Roman Catholic, a bold visionary, a compassionate leader, a loving mother, and a caring and generous friend.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, 3:00 pm, at the Chapel of the Scarboro Missions, 2685 Kingston Road, Scarborough, Ontario; 416 261 7135. Enter through the South Entrance (low white roof in corner) at the back of the building.
