Verna Marie Paulin

June 22, 1930 - February 5, 2017


On Sunday, February 5, 2017, Verna Marie Paulin passed away peacefully in Cold Lake, Alberta at the age of 86 with family by her side.

Verna was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Ludovic, her son Michael, and her parents George and Alberta Morriss and four brothers, Leonard, Raymond, Victor and Cecil. Mom is lovingly survived by her son Richard (Marina), daughter Celeste (George) and daughter Brenda (Tony), eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Verna loved cats and her small dog, Schultzy, who she missed greatly. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, reading and crossword puzzles.

She saw and lived in much of Canada as wife of an Air Force serviceman. Verna made many friends while living in various military housing across Canada. She was courted on a motorcycle and continued to enjoy motorcycling throughout her married life. She served in leadership roles in the Girl Guides of Canada, Roman Catholic Church, and the Royal Canadian Legion. All who knew Mom enjoyed listening to her sing and play the music she loved. She sang for many years with the Sweet Adelines of Victoria, B.C.

Mom will be greatly missed but our loving memories of her will remain dear. A funeral service for Mom will be celebrated at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Victoria, B.C. on May 6th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with Father Marc Parent officiating.
