It is with great sadness that our beloved aunt, Vera Makaeff, passed away January 18, 2015 in Grand Forks. Vera was born in Mikado Sask. and moved to B.C. in the early 1940s. Vera was active in the U.S.C.C. choir. She was also a writer and artist. She will be missed for her humor, her free spirit and her extreme kindness. She is survived by her nieces; Anna Konken, Judi Pritchard, June Whachell, Mary Horkoff, Florence Padmeroff, Barbra Bunt and many great nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Thursday January 22, 2015 in the Chapel of the Grand Forks Funeral Home with burial in the Sion Cemetery Grand Forks.
