December 30, 1939 - April 16, 2021
It's with heavy hearts we announce that Thomas 'Murray' Rennie passed away peacefully at his home in Grand Forks, BC on April 18, 2021 at the age of 81.
Murray was born on December 30, 1939, in Edam, Sask and grew up on the family farm in Glaslyn, Sask.
Murray was predeceased by his parents Hilda and Ian Rennie, and sister Inez Bishop, and is survived by his loving wife Helen, son John, daughter Tanya Koenig, grandchildren Cameron and Linden Rennie, Kyle and Myah Koenig, his sisters Margaret Raabe, Jean Baker and nieces and nephews.
Murray was a dedicated member of the RCMP for 34 years, having been one of the few to have graduated from RCMP training in Ottawa instead of Regina. His career took him to numerous towns and cities in BC, as well as into the NWT where he spent most of his career, in Frobisher Bay (Iqaluit) and Yellowknife. During this time Murray volunteered endlessly in Minor Hockey by coaching and fundraising for the kid's tournaments.
In the fall of 1999 Murray and Helen retired to Grand Forks, BC, where Murray became a member of the Masonic Lodge and continued giving back to the community in which he lived, volunteering for various organizations.
Murray will be remembered with many fond memories by family and friends.
The Rennie family would like to thank Dr. Coleshill, the doctors and all the nursing staff at the Boundary Hospital as well as the homecare staff for the excellent care Murray received.
