Born May 12, 1920, at Union Bay, B.C., passed away peacefully after a brief illness in Kelowna, B.C., on November 8, 2011. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Natsuko “Vickie” on July 2, 1998 in Grand Forks, B.C. Survived by sister, Pat; daughter, Sue (Ross) McArthur of Kelowna, B.C.; son, Garry (Julie) Higashi of Chilliwack, B.C.; grandchildren: David (Lynn) McArthur, Mike (Rachel) and Travis Higashi; and great-grandchildren, Jill and Cate McArthur; and several nieces and nephews.

Tickie was evacuated during the Second World War from the coast to Greenwood, B.C., where he remained until his passing. He started out operating a family plumbing business in the area and then soon got into logging where he was an owner/operator of a logging truck for many years until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed a long happy healthy retirement doing the things he loved; hunting, fishing, tending his garden and looking after his family and friends. He especially loved hunting the hills around Greenwood and going back to Vancouver Island every year to fish in the ocean with his close friends. He will be remembered for his immense generosity. He gave so much and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A small private family service will be held at a later date. Credible Cremation Services Ltd was in care of cremains.
