Sharon Rose Olson, born Feb. 3, 1948 in Calgary, Alta, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2013 in Grand Forks.

She is predeceased by her father Harry Williams. She is lovingly survived by her husband Michael; sons Todd and Graham (grandkids Michael, Tina and Olivia); and her mother Olive Williams, along with three brothers and two sisters, all from Calgary.

She was a long-time employee of the oil industry in Calgary.

Sharon enjoyed painting, golfing, curling, gardening, cooking, was a very talented musician, and was a long-time community volunteer.

She served on the Christina Lake Golf Club executive and became president of same in 2012, and then gave this up when she became ill. She was captain of the Match Committee for three years for Tuesday Ladies Golf; also, she was co-chair for the B.C. Women’s Amateur and Mid Amateur Open Championship held at CLGC in 2012.

Sharon was a long-time volunteer and was in charge of scoring at the Christina Lake Men’s Open Championship in June and the Senior Men’s Open Championship in September.

Her love of curling led her to serve on numerous committees, cooking, taking care of lunches, decorating, setting tables, serving and cleanup; she also set up and ran the concession for Men’s Curling bonspiels. She received the Service Award for 2011/2012 for Volunteer of the Year. Sharon was also a long-time volunteer for the GFI.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 10 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Grand Forks Curling Rink. Casual dress.
