It is with great sadness that the families of Rolan Fardal announce his sudden passing on May 10 at the age of 36 in a motor vehicle accident in Alberta. He was building a timber frame home near Water Valley for a client.

Rolan leaves behind his loving wife Lara and their two sons Brodie, 6, and Devon, 4. A memorial service was held on May 22 in Castlegar. He is also survived by his mother Lorraine Fardal; father Arne Fardal (Marlene); grandmother Esther Becker; sister Heidi Halbert (Darren) and their children: Jenna, Chelsea, Eric, Ryan, and Rachel; Uncle Don, Aunt Sharleen and their family; Lara’s parents, Rose and Dave Beattie; and brother-in-law Mark Beattie.

Rolan was born on May 23, 1976 in Quesnel, B.C. He and Lara met in Calgary in 1999 and were married in Maui, Hawaii in 2004. After the birth of their sons they moved to Castlegar in 2008. Rolan and Lara created Fardal Contracting specializing in the design and building of timber frame homes. He worked hard and played hard, enjoying life to the fullest.

The Brodie/Devon Education fund has been established at the Grand Forks Credit Union.
