“Bob the Barber”

June 2, 1938 to June 16, 2012

Bob passed away at Boundary Hospital after a short battle with lung cancer. In Dad’s words, “I’ve lived a full life.” His life began on a farm at Saskatchewan, he grew up at Surrey Centre, married, had four children, lived at Prince George and the greater Vancouver area until moving to Grand Forks over 30 years ago.

Dad’s life was adventurous; he started out working for the highways department, he barbered, built boats/houseboats, scuba dived (salvage/recreational), log salvaged, fished commercially, and then gave his all to develop a piece of riverfront property on the Kettle River at Grand Forks.

Dad was an active sports enthusiast in his younger years and appreciated “the game of sport” to the end. Dad retired a year ago from 30+ years of barbering at Grand Forks. His passion was the guitar, singing tunes that stirred ones emotions and painting.

He is survived by his four children: Shelly (Lou), Jody (Hugh), Tammy and Jeff (Tammy); his mother, Anne Busby who currently resides at Grand Forks; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Norm (Sue); and sister, Myrna (Doug).

Grand Forks Funeral Home had care of arrangements.

The family would like to thank his family physician and the Boundary Hospital nursing staff for their compassionate care.

Thanks for the memories Dad/Pa.
