It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and deda who passed away at Boundary Hospital on Aug. 16, 2016.

Phil was born in New Westminster on Jan. 17, 1941. He attended school in Vancouver. At an early age he started driving truck delivering throughout the city. He continued driving for most of his life, from delivery to long haul then logging and dump trucks.

In 1965 he met the love of his life and they married in 1967. They lived in Burnaby where their 2 children were born. Dennine in 1971 and Duane in 1973. They moved to Grand Forks in 1975. Phil has a great sense of humour and liked everybody. His family was very important to him and he was involved in all their activities from coaching ball to driving for hockey. He enjoyed golfing and just spending time with family and friends.

Phil was predeceased by his daughter Dennine Smith (Bob) on Nov. 21, 2015, his parents, his brother Vernon, brother Reg Perry (Doreen), his sister Shirley Ricci (Gino), his niece Jolene and his brother-in-law Art Price (Maxine).

He is survived by his wife Helen, son Duane (Korene), son-in-law Bob Smith (Dennine). His grandchildren Jessica Smith (Alex), Justin Smith and Caden Perry, his brother Ed Perry (Joan), his sister Maxine Price, sisters-in-laws Phyllis Gritchen, Maureen Kofinoff (Bill), Susan Makortoff and Venna Chernoff (John), brother-in-law Paul Makortoff (Marlene) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will always be loved and remembered. May he rest in peace. Cremations were entrusted to the Baker Family of Grand Forks Funeral Home and Cremation Centre Ltd.
