June 9, 1973 - July 1, 2020
It is with profound sadness I announce the passing of my son Philip Duane Perry at Kelowna General Hospital on July 1, 2020. Duane was born on June 9, 1973 at Burnaby General Hospital. We moved to Grand Forks when he was 1 year old.
He was active in sports throughout his school years. He played hockey, soccer and baseball. He also loved skiing. He enjoyed playing the drums and was in a band for a couple of years.
He had a great sense of humour and cared deeply for his friends and family. He graduated from GFSS in 1991. Duane worked at The Source, Credit Union and Boundary Truss. He then moved to Penticton for a couple of years and finally to Kelowna where he worked at RBC.
He is survived by his mom, his son Caden whom he loved so very much. By his brother-in-law Bob Smith. His niece Jessica Erickson (Alex), his nephew Justin Smith and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his dad, Phil Perry and by his sister Dennine. He loved and missed them very much. He was also predeceased by his aunts Maureen Koftinoff, Susan Makortoff, Shirley Ricci, Maxine Price and Doreen Perry. His cousins Jolene Ricci and Gary Gritchen. His uncles George Gritchen, Reg Perry and Art Price. Rest In Peace Duane.
I love you.
The tide recedes but leaves
behind bright seashells
on the sand.
The sun goes down, but gentle
warmth still lingers on the land.
The music stops, and yet it echoes
on in sweet refrain.
For every joy that passes
something beautiful remains.
