April 12, 1926 to March 15, 2010Known for her sense of humour, thirst for knowledge and love of life, Pegi died peacefully at her home " Pegi's Cottage " on Son Ranch with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Les and grandson, Marc. Pegi is survived by her children: Dave (Jocelyn) Evans of Greenwood, Janis (Ross) Freer of Son Ranch, Tom Evans of Princeton, Sally (Dave McBride) Evans of Vernon and Megan (Bud) Phelps of Grand Forks; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who all loved her so much.The family would like to extend heartfelt thank yous to the following: the staff of Grand Forks Home Support for being so good to Mom and helping us to keep her at home to the very end; her personal doctor for his wonderful way with Mom and the hugs he gave her; Duncan at Overwaitea Pharmacy for taking the time to answer our many questions and always giving us the right advice; the girls at Overwaitea for making Mom feel so special and continuing to ask about her long after her shopping days were over; and to all the friends who faithfully climbed the " stairway to heaven" at Pegi's Cottage to visit with her.There will be no service as per Mom's request. Her spirit will live on through her family.
