Mar 24, 1936 - Jan 30, 2018
With sad hearts we announce the passing of Paul Makortoff, who died at the Boundary Hospital on January 30th, 2018.

Paul was born in Saskatchewan on March 24th, 1936. He moved with his parents to Grand Forks as a baby and lived his entire life here. Growing up Paul loved to play hockey and baseball into his adult years, then continued as a fan of both sports. His other pastime was fishing and was his happiest just sitting in a boat, or standing on the ice on Jewel lake.

His friends, family and peers will remember him most for, along with his closest friends Peter and Mike, making everyone at a party laugh until they couldn't breath then entertain them further by singing, playing guitar and harmonica. Paul's sense of humor stayed with him through all the medical challenges endured during the last few years of his life.

On the slightly more serious side, he was a dedicated family man who was known to work hard at several customer service jobs before joining the BC Ambulance which he served till his retirement.

Paul is predeceased by his parents, William and Pauline, his brother William and sister Edna.

He is survived by his wife Nettie, son Bob, daughter in-law Irene, grandchildren Adrian and Natalie. Paul is also survived by his sister Pauline and little brother Nick.

We give our warmest thanks and love to the family, friends, and neighbours for their calls, visits, cards and heartfelt condolences and a special thanks to the hospital staff who made him comfortable. Paul requested not to have a service and be cremated.

He is at peace...
