PATRICIA (PAT) IOLEEN KNEELAND, (nee LUNTY)

On August 4, 2011, Pat passed away peacefully in her home at the Comox Valley Senior’s Village in Courtenay, B.C. Her son and daughter-in-law were with her. Pat was born in Forestburg, AB on September 8, 1924, to Clarence and Pearl Lunty.

She was one of nine children and is survived by her sister Velma Carmichael of Kelowna, B.C., and her brothers, Garth (Marg) Lunty of Forestburg, AB and Wallace (Doris) Lunty of Edmonton, AB. She is also survived by her son, Alan Kneeland (Marsha McGregor) of Grand Forks, B.C., and her daughter Lana Kneeland (Don Kosolofski) of Kelowna, B.C.; her grandchildren: Dayna Kneeland of Vancouver, B.C., Erika Kneeland (Corny Martens) and Kai Kneeland (Emily Dunsmore) of Merville, B.C.: and her great-granddaughters, Chloe Martens and Willa Kneeland. Pat’s extended family included step-granddaughter Julie Kosolofski (Ah-ji Kuo) of Taipei, Taiwan, and their children: Jaylene and Jayden Kuo and Carrie Derickson of Vancouver, B.C., plus all of her friends that she met over the years and stayed in contact with. Pat will be missed by many as she touched everyone she knew with open arms and love. To her, everyone was family and family was the most important thing. Over the years, Pat was a very active member of the Rebekah Lodges in Kelowna, Oliver, Rossland, Cumberland and Merville and of the Sons of Norway.

Pat and Bob Kneeland will be interred at a future date at Hastings Coulee Cemetery close to Forestburg, AB.
