January 2, 1925 - January 13, 2018
It is with sadness that we announce Nobby Hamagami passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on January 13, 2018 at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her husband John and son Terry. She is survived by her daughter Diana (Allan), daughter Fran (Keith), son Ron (Carolyn), son Brian (Karen) and daughter-in-law Mikki (Terry's widow). She also is survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and 1 great-greatgrandchild.

Nobby was born in Vancouver, B.C. and went to Japan at age 13 for four years of schooling before returning to Vancouver. Her family was interned at Alpine Inn where she met her future husband, John Hamagami. They were married on January 3, 1944, and eventually settled in Christina Lake.

Nobby was one of the longtime members of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Christina Lake Community Hall. She was a translator for Japan Konan College students and for some other organizations. Although she started golfing late in life, she became an avid golfer. She was often a "welcome wagon" for many newcomers to the community.

She had pride in her garden from which many people enjoyed her vegetables and fruit. Her greatest pride, however, was her family.

Memorial donations may be made to a favourite charity.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for later in the spring or summer.
