Nick N. Skripnik

August 9, 1938 – February 5, 2016

Nick N. Skripnik, age 77, passed away suddenly and peacefully in his Grand Forks home on Friday, February 5, 2016.

He is sadly missed and leaves behind his companion Eileen Planidin; his two sons, Clay (Shelly) and Brian Skripnik; two daughters, Laurine (Terry) Vaugeois and Cherie Skripnik; six grandsons, Ryan (Samantha), Denis, Tyler, Kyle, Daniel and Cole; stepson, Dan Planidin; great-grandson Ethan; great granddaughter Charlotte; sister Elena Powers; nephews, Alan and Wayne; and niece Lynne; and many family members and close friends.

The son of the late Nick Skripnik and Laura Skripnik, Nick was born and raised in Grand Forks until a young age, spending his teen years in Agassiz (Harrison/Chilliwack). Nick returned to live in Grand Forks for the past 35 years.

Nick worked and lived in communities across B.C. and spent his career log scaling, truck driving, and working on the tug boats. He loved to be behind the wheel and enjoyed driving on the open road, through mountain passes and backroads.

The family wishes to thank the many family members, friends and doctors for their loving care and support for nick over the years.

As per Nick’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Nick was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
