January 17, 1915 to January 21, 2012


Nick Kurbatoff of Grand Forks, B.C., passed away at the Victorian Community Health Centre in Kaslo, B.C., on January 21, 2012. He was 97 years old. Nick was born January 17, 1915, at Arron, Saskatchewan, to Nick and Polly (Malloff) Kurbatoff. The family moved to Shoreacres, BC., in 1924 and then to Grand Forks in 1936.

Nick was predeceased by his parents; wife, Mable (Zebroff) Kurbatoff; and wife, Anna (Vanjoff) Kurbatoff; sister, Tina Esouloff; and stepson, Peter Sookochoff. Nick is survived by his children: Mary Dergousoff, Polly MacKenzie, John Kurbatoff, Mable Postnikoff and Violet Zaytsoff and their families; and by his step-sons, Mike Sookochoff and Alex Padmoroff and their families.

No funeral service by request. A private burial was held on February 6, 2012, at the Sion Doukhobor Cemetery. Grand Forks Funeral Home had care of arrangements.
