Nancy (Nadiezda) Koch (nee Sawchuk)

June 27, 1921 - November 7, 2022

Nancy Koch (nee Nadiezda Sawchuk), was born June 27, 1921 in Derazno, Ukraine, and with family by her side at her home in Grand Forks, Nancy gently went to be with her Lord on November 7th.
Nancy is lovingly survived by her children, Gene (Gloria) Koch, Wayne (Sue) Koch, Joanie Koch-Kalanj (Michael) and Phyllis Koch- Edwards-Planedin (David); grandchildren Lonny (Inge), David Edwards, Leanne (Chris) and Danny (Sarah), and great granddaughters Kaela, Sophia and Phoenix, her brother Roy Sawchuk and cousin Ben Sawchuk, her nephews, nieces, great and grand nephews and nieces.
She is also survived by her Church Families at Christ Lutheran Church in Grand Forks and Trinity Lutheran Church in Republic, many, many friends and loved ones, her extended family includes her beautiful care-angels, wonderful neighbours, dedicated health professionals, and Dr. Geoff Coleshill who respectfully guided Nancy's health care for a multitude of years.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband Philip, her daughter Evelyn, grandson Joey, sisters Vicky, Luba, Mildred and Sonja.
Nancy's greatest gift to all that knew her was her willingness to share her enormous capacity to love and care for people. Nancy loved long walks, the sun shining on her face, music, singing, dancing, and she loved sharing her cooking and baking.
She would want us to be comforted in our sadness knowing that she was steadfast in believing the promises of her faith that God's strength sustains us. We can remember and honour Nancy with a smile on our face when we think of her, or by singing one of her favorite songs.
Nancy's Christian faith was always at the forefront of her thoughts, her daily routine of prayers and readings, and the knowledge that the promises of her faith were steadfast. We will remember Nancy's kindness, generosity and sense of humour. Her greatest gift was the example she set. Her memory is a Blessing.
We will celebrate Nancy's life with a funeral service led by Pastor Ken Schauer on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Christ Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, BC. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Nancy's family would like to invite family and friends to a memorial luncheon back at the church.
A viewing will be held at the Grand Forks Funeral Home Wednesday, November 16 between 2 pm - 4 pm.
